Hansa Ceylon Coffee is a Sri Lanka-based specialty coffee processing/roasting/exporting company committed to producing some of the world’s best coffee. situated in Nuwara Eliya 6000 feet above sea level in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, our coffee now has many fans worldwide and has been described by coffee tasters as smooth, chocolaty, and rich.

The company grew out of the expectation that great Sri Lanka coffee must still be available since many remnant patches of the original coffee plantations are still here. A Dutch national began the business with this idea in mind. Hansa Coffee was partially supported by the Netherlands government through the Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP) in the hill-station of Nuwara Eliya, from 1996. Since then, lots of time has been spent working with the farmers about how to achieve the best coffee culture. Our aim is to improve their income by dealing directly with them. Our coffee is hand-selected from Arabica and Robusta beans.

we deal with high quality, dry processed, Arabica and Robusta coffee beans. The beans are then hand-sorted many times so that only the highest quality coffee seeds are roasted. Our coffee is Sri Lanka’s first (in over 150 years) high grown, gourmet coffee.

the company uses only high-grown Sri Lankan coffee beans which are carefully processed, hand-sorted and roasted. We work closely with the coffee farmers we buy our beans from, most often offering them a higher price than they can get from anyone else, in order that they have enough money to stay in their villages instead of being forced to look for work in the cities. Hansa Ceylon Coffee has been working with coffee farmers since 1997.

Our Services

       

We are also able to roast-to-specification. That is, we assess your machine capabilities and roast to get the best tasting coffee from that particular machine/machines. To our clients we offer in-house coffee-service training, machine maintenance training, and are always available to trouble-shoot your coffee problems. We offer this service because our main aim is to give our coffee consumers a quality cup of coffee.

Workshops

We conduct workshops on various coffee-related subjects annually for the purpose of educating our clients and customers on the art of coffee making. Tailor-made packs for our client’s machines We are also able to tailor-make a coffee pack to suit the specific requirements of your coffee machine. For example, a 50g, 75g or 100g pack. The price will have to be worked out for a specific grammage that we do not currently sell. The way this works is we visit your establishment, make coffee in your existing coffee machine and work out what grammage is needed for the best taste. We then recommend a specific grammage.

Storage

We store our roasted coffee in an air conditioned environment in Colombo after we transport it from the coolness of Nuwara Eliya ensuring absolute freshness from bush to cup.
