Hansa Ceylon Coffee is a Sri Lanka-based specialty coffee
processing/roasting/exporting company committed to producing some of the
world’s best coffee. situated in Nuwara Eliya 6000 feet above sea level in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, our coffee now has many
fans worldwide and has been described by coffee tasters as smooth, chocolaty, and rich.
The company grew out of the expectation that great Sri Lanka coffee must still be available since many remnant patches of the original
coffee plantations are still here. A Dutch national began the business with this idea in mind. Hansa Coffee was partially supported by
the Netherlands government through the Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP) in the hill-station of Nuwara Eliya, from 1996.
Since then, lots of time has been spent working with the farmers about how to achieve the best coffee culture. Our aim is to improve
their income by dealing directly with them. Our coffee is hand-selected from Arabica and Robusta beans.
we deal with high quality, dry processed, Arabica and Robusta coffee beans. The beans are then hand-sorted many times so that only the
highest quality coffee seeds are roasted. Our coffee is Sri Lanka’s first (in over 150 years) high grown, gourmet coffee.
the company uses only high-grown Sri Lankan coffee beans which are carefully processed, hand-sorted and roasted. We work closely with
the coffee farmers we buy our beans from, most often offering them a higher price than they can get from anyone else, in order that
they have enough money to stay in their villages instead of being forced to look for work in the cities. Hansa Ceylon Coffee has been
working with coffee farmers since 1997.
